An Artless Vow - Joel Fisher

The heady promise of love burns light,

then hard and heavy as it twinkles out.

The ones who last, persevere through choice

and swear the distance’s short. They laugh,

and dance away, though death would part,

birthing memories ringed by time

together. Hands pressed together,

as their child peeks; white-knuckled love.
